Australia’s government simply doesn’t care about sustainable power generation. Need proof? Check this out…
Peru is giving free solar panels to 2 million of its people. And Peru has nowhere near Australia’s wealth. Here’s the comparison.
Seriously! There’s obviously a problem here! If Peru can afford it, surely Australia can. Or does our coal industry have too much say in how our country is run?

Oh, and don’t say it’s ‘cos we don’t have the money. Abbott is going to sink $30 billion into submarines! 12 new submarines that we don’t need and could buy at a third of the cost. But wait, there’s more. Guess who’s going to build them? None other than the company that screwed up the last submarines it built – the Collins-class subs! They (the Australian Submarine Corporation) built 6 of them, and I read that in their entire history, there were never more than 2 in service at any one time, because they were so poorly built! And here’s the kicker… Guess who’s a recently appointed board member of that company? Former liberal MP Sophie Mirabella (who lost her seat of Indi at the 2013 elections). Jobs for the boys, anyone?
I suggest you get your facts right “there were never more than 2 in service at any one time” is 100% false. And as for any fleet of Sub’s for everyone you have at sea you have one in a maintenance period and one coming out of maintenance. But yes I agree it would be much cheaper to buy a proven design and built overseas
You’re right, Paul. I haven’t verified that. I’ll change it now. Thanks for pointing it out.
